- Help please!
- Using the above mentioned THING ( does UMC stand for Unknown Manufacturer
- Computerparts ?)
- I do get a14400 connect with a local BBS using Transend Light
- ( was in the pack ) under Dos ( MS 6.22)
- However calling the local 28800 number of AOL winaol 2.5 only gives me a
- 9600 connect.
- Posible reasons:
- 1.) AOL does not work properly
- Chance to prove that: nil, zero, zilch
-
- 2.) Wrong INIstring in waol
- remedy: unknown unless I do get Help
- From the answers I did get to my previous posting so far
- I have to repeat:
-
- My Modem, having no name is not on the list AOL or indeed any body
- provides. ( kind of obvious isn'it )
- I Am using Standard Hayes already but suspect I could do better.
- Also for those who want to help me with hints regarding Rockwell chipset
- modems :!!!!!!!!
- Unfortunately I dont seem to have a RPI /RPII+ modem
- my modes chipset was made by UMC as can be read on the chips
- using different ATIn commands i get:
-
- ati
- 961
-
- ati1
- 2128/1A15
-
- ati2
- 7DEF9D
-
- ati3
- AT-1496PC-EUR 09/20/1995 FOR GERMANY
-
- ati4
- V.32bis/FAX MODEM, S/W V4.06
-
- neither the package or the manual (rather the few xeroxed pages full of
- Q%/$ printing errors) give any kind of address (snail, email, tel., fax,
- ect.)
- does Anybody please know this NO-NAME internal 14400 UMC - Modem??
- TNX for trying
