  13. Using the above mentioned THING ( does UMC stand for Unknown Manufacturer
  14. Computerparts ?)
  15. I do get  a14400 connect with a local BBS using Transend Light
  16. ( was in the pack ) under Dos ( MS 6.22)
  17. However calling the local 28800 number of AOL  winaol 2.5 only gives me a
  18. 9600 connect.
  19. Posible reasons:
  20. 1.) AOL does not work properly
  21.      Chance to prove that: nil, zero, zilch
  22.  
  23. 2.) Wrong INIstring in waol 
  24.    remedy: unknown unless I do get Help
  25.    From the answers I did get to my previous posting so far
  26.   I have to repeat:

  28.   My Modem, having no name is not on the list AOL or indeed any body
  29. provides. ( kind of obvious isn'it )
  30. I Am using Standard Hayes already but suspect I could do better.
  31. Also for those who want to help me with hints regarding Rockwell chipset
  32. modems :!!!!!!!!
  33. Unfortunately I dont seem to have a RPI /RPII+ modem
  34. my modes chipset was made by UMC as can be read on the chips
  35. using different ATIn commands i get:

  55. does Anybody please know this NO-NAME internal 14400 UMC - Modem??
